Description
Build the most Zen Japanese garden by collecting cards of just the right value.
- Shuffle the deck and deal each player 10 cards
- Place the remaining cards in the centre of the table
Gameplay takes place over 3 rounds
- Each player chooses two of the cards they are holding to place into their gardens, which are columns of cards that are placed in numeric ascending order
- They are just selected at this stage, not placed
- You can have a maximum of 3 gardens (columns of cards)
- Then each player will pass the remaining cards that they are holding to the player next to them
- Round 1: Player to their left
- Round 2: Player to their right
- Round 3: Player to their left
- Once all players have chosen their two cards, players will place their cards into their gardens
- The last player to choose their two cards places their two cards first
- For each card you have chosen, you can either discard it or place it into a garden
- You can only place a card at the top of a garden or the bottom
- The card you place must be higher in value than the highest card in that column so far, or lower than the lowest card
After all players have placed their cards, they select 2 more cards from the cards they were given during the previous turn and run through the above steps again until all cards have been either placed or discarded
End of Round 1
- For all blue cards in your gardens, score 3 points
End of Round 2
- For all blue cards in your gardens, score 3 points
- For all green cards in your gardens, score 4 points
End of Round 3
- For all blue cards in your gardens, score 3 points
- For all green cards in your gardens, score 4 points
- For all grey cards in your gardens, score 7 points
- Score the following points based on how many pink cards are in your gardens:
The winner is the player with the highest number of points. In case of a tie, the player with the most pink cards in their gardens wins. Otherwise, the victory is shared
